The national leadership of the Movement for Peace, Justice and Conflict Resolution (MPJPR) has warmly in totality warned it’s members across the nation to remain indoor against the upcoming planned nationwide protests.
In a warning letter which was made available to newsmen in Gusau Zamfara State capital and signed by the President of the association, Professor Kabir Umar Jabaka, informed all its state chapters the renouncement in totality any form of insurrection and or industrial action in the name of protest.
It called on all its state chapters warning that all members should shun the impending planned nation wide protest and actively uphold enlightening the public on the essence and importance of embracing dialogue over violence.
“As a peaceful resolution promoting movement and as proven by our long outstanding researches, the planned protest is an ill wind that blows nobody any good and hence appealing for restraint to properly register our plight with the authorities concerned for dialogue for viable lasting solutions.
“Nobody is in darkness about the fact that due to our long standing insecurity our country is awash with illegally possesed firearms and overrun by unprecedented criminalities in the history of our nation following on which is also a great deal of unemployment and hunger sufficient enough to detonate the unseen explosive in ire of this distressed populace. Hence the need to exercise caution.
“We are also never oblivious of the fact that what has not been achieved by compromise can never be achieved by war and all wars’ grievances end at the round table.
“We however fully discern the plight of the public and thus rest assure the public of taking the onus to properly register their plight with the leadership of the Senate, House of Representatives and the Executive Arms, appealing for a quick interventions.
“Considering the appalling situation our loved country may fall, we are calling for the authorities to quickly issue a State of Emergency in food security in the nation by quickly subsidising food and other essential commodities in the country and facilitating and supporting sufficient supplies in our markets.
“We found it obligatory to appeal to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu to Look into the possibility of quickly swinging into action in restoring full\larger part of fuel subsidy as Nigeria is ours. Peace is its own price. Stability and growth are products of peace”, Prof. Jabaka has pleaded.
