Elections have been disrupted in the Rimin Gado Local Government area of Kano as political thugs destroyed several ballots and chased away party agents.
In Dugurawa, Jili, Yalwan Danziyal and Akalawa Futufutu wards ballot boxes were completely destroyed while voters were sent running helter-skelter for dear lives by some party political thugs.
According to Daily Post, Haliru Danga Maigari of NNPP accused the APC of being behind the destruction of the election materials and boxes because they were losing the elections.
He said, ”We are worried that party members were disenfranchised, what they are afraid of is defeat and we will surely defeat them, no matter what”.
Meanwhile, APC members have denied causing violence and accused the NNPP members of being behind in the destruction of the election materials.
Sani Sani Rimin Gado of APC alleged that the election was going on peacefully when heavily Armed NNPP thugs arrived and chased people away, trying to snatch ballot boxes.
