Tinubu arrives in Saudi Arabia for Summit

President Bola Tinubu of Nigeria has arrived in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to attend the Saudi-Africa Summit scheduled for Friday.

Upon his arrival, the Nigerian leader was greeted at the airport by ministers, members of the National Assembly, and other government officials.

Tinubu intends to use the summit as an opportunity to emphasize Nigeria’s commitment to attracting more foreign direct investment and expanding business partnerships.

According to presidential spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, the visit will serve to strongly reinforce the administration’s ongoing domestic economic reforms.

Discussions at the inaugural Saudi-Africa Summit will focus on fostering joint action, strengthening political coordination, and addressing regional security threats.

“The summit aims to promote economic transformation through research and the local development of new energy solutions, which is expected to stimulate cross-sectoral investment cooperation,” Ngelale stated.

Accompanying President Tinubu on the trip are Foreign Minister Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, Education Minister Prof. Tahir Mamman, and Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance Mr. Wale Edun.

Other notable figures in the delegation include National Security Adviser (NSA) Malam Nuhu Ribadu, Director General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA) Amb. Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, and Chairman of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) Malam Jalal Arabi.
