The Federal Government has announced that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope City in Kano is expected to be completed by May, 2025.

The Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Arc. Ahmed Dangiwa, disclosed this during an inspection tour of the project site at Lambu, Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.

He said the project is part of the Renewed Hope Cities and Estates Programme, a nationwide initiative aimed at addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit.

According to Dangiwa, the Renewed Hope City in Kano will feature:100 units of 1-bedroom semi-detached bungalows,300 units of 2-bedroom semi-detached bungalows and 100 units of 3-bedroom semi-detached bungalows

The Minister noted that the units are designed with affordability and future expansion in mind, allowing homeowners to enlarge their living spaces as their incomes improve.

He warned contractors and developers to adhere to the quality standards and timely completion of the project, urging them to build according to specifications and deliver quality work within three to six months.

“I’ll advise supervisors of the ministry that are resident here in Kano to ensure that they maintain good quality of work and ensure that quality materials are used on site.

“For this the contractors must have to maintain the speed and the quality of work we have seen and to ensure that they engage the people of Kano especially in executing their project” the Minister warned.

“We always want to domicile the project where the people are there so that they can be encouraged to work”

The Minister further described the completion of the city in Kano by May 2025, as a significant milestone in the Federal Government’s efforts to address Nigeria’s housing challenges.”
