Six Boko Haram fighters have been eliminated by the Special Forces troops of Operation Hadin Kai on the eve of new year, along Maiduguri to Damboa Road after it sprang an ambush at the suspected crossing point of the terrorists.
According to reports the troops of the 199 Special Forces Battalion, who credible intelligence, in collaboration with Civilian Joint Task Force, conducted a successful ambush at about 9:30 PM on December 31st, in Kamala near Maiduguri, the restive capital of Borno State.
Intelligence Sources told Zagazola Makama, a Security Analyst and Counter Insurgency Expert in the Lake Chad that, in the fire fight that ensued, six of the terrorists were instantly gun down while some escaped with bullets wounds.
Traces of blood were also confirmed in the escape route of the terrorists as the troops conducted a general check on the area after the ambush, the sources explained.
He explained that items recovered in the aftermath of the ambush included 6 motorcycles, 3 AK47 rifles and 1 Machine gun.
According to him, Military operations in the North East Zone have been aggressively sustained against the activities of terrorist elements’ within the zone aimed at restoring peace, security and creating an enabling environment for law and order to thrive.
