Two prominent politicians from Tarauni Local Government Area, Hon. Bashir Suwaid and Hon. Muhammad Magaji, have officially announced their return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming their commitment to support the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the progressive ideals of the party.
The announcement was made during a press conference held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, where the duo declared that their decision to rejoin the APC was driven by conviction and a renewed belief in the party’s vision for national progress.
Hon. Bashir Suwaid returned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), while Hon. Muhammad Magaji rejoined the party from the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
Speaking at the event, the politicians emphasized that their return was inspired by the renewed sense of purpose and youth-centered policies being championed by President Tinubu’s administration.
They expressed confidence in the President’s agenda to deliver meaningful impact to Nigerians, particularly the youth and women, whom they described as the “driving force of the nation’s future.”
The duo also commended Hon. Nasir Bala Aminu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Citizenship and Leadership, for his exemplary leadership, humility, and grassroots engagement.
They credited his mentorship dedication to empowering young people as a major factor in their decision to return to the APC.
In a show of renewed commitment, Hon. Suwaid and Hon. Magaji announced the formation of the Jaoji Progressive Youth and Women Network, a movement aimed at strengthening APC structures across Tarauni’s wards and chapters.
The network, they said, will serve as a platform to mobilize grassroots support for the party’s programs at both state and national levels while promoting inclusion and community development.
According to the duo, their return to the APC is not motivated by personal ambition but by a shared desire to contribute to the progress of Tarauni and Nigeria at large.
They called on their supporters and all progressives to unite, organize, and work collectively toward strengthening the APC and advancing good governance.
“We come not as individuals seeking positions but as patriots seeking progress. The future belongs to those who build it and with the APC, we are ready to build.” the statement read.
