UMYU mourns former President Buhari, hails his legacy of Service

Umaru Musa Yar’adua University UMYU Katsina, has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari GCFR describing his death as a monumental loss to the nation and to humanity.

In a condolence message signed by the Vice Chancellor Professor Shehu Salihu Muhammad, the university community extended its heartfelt condolences to the late president’s family, the people of Katsina State and Nigerians at large.

The statement eulogized President Buhari as a leader of uncommon dedication whose tenure left a lasting impact on the country.“The passing of President Buhari marks the end of an era of exceptional leadership, selfless service and unwavering dedication to Nigeria” the message read.

“As a former Head of State, President and elder statesman, his life was a testament to integrity, discipline and an unyielding commitment to national unity and progress.”Professor Muhammad noted Buhari’s immense contributions to Nigeria’s development, especially in anti corruption, security and economic reforms, describing them as indelible marks in the nation’s history. He further praised Buhari’s humility and simplicity, which he said, endeared him to millions.

While commiserating with the people and government of Katsina State, the Vice Chancellor emphasized that Buhari was not only a national icon but also a proud son of Katsina soil whose legacy will continue to inspire generations.

The statement concluded with a prayer for Allah to grant the late President eternal peace and reward him with Aljannat Firdaus while also comforting his family in their time of grief.
