Abdulmumini Tijjani, the Senior Special Assistant on Entrepreneurship to Kano State Governor has announced a new initiative to empower youths, women and PWDs in the state with vocational skills.
The SSA popularly known as “Mai P.O.S” according to him, the initiative is aimed at reducing unemployment rate in Kano state which is in line with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf’s zeal of creating job opportunity for citizens in the state.
In an interview with journalists over the weekend in Kano, Abdulmumini disclosed that after conducting extensive research on how his office can be utilized to reduce the rate of unemployment in the state, He identified the problem, solution, and potential sustainability strategies.
” He discovered that many youths and women in Kano lacked the skills needed to secure decent jobs or start their own businesses” He said.
To address this issue, Abdulmumini proposed a vocational training program that would equip trainees with skills in areas such as bakery, maize processing among others. This he believes would not only make them self-reliant but also empower them to become employers of labor.
“After the training, beneficiaries will be empowered with equipment and machinery to start their own businesses. Women who participate in the program will receive baking machines, maize processing machines. This will enable them to put their new skills into practice and generate income from home” He noted.
Abdulmumini encouraged youths, women and PWDs in Kano to embrace this opportunity and scale through any challenges they may face, promising that the government will provide the necessary support to ensure their success.
Abdulmumini however, commended Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his commitment to empowering Kano youths and women and his efforts to create a brighter future for all.
