Xmas: Plateau Deputy Governor Tasks Christians On Peace, Unity

Plateau State Deputy Governor, Josephine Piyo, has charged Christians to demonstrate the love of God by upholding the virtues of peace, sacrifice, and goodwill which she said represents the true essence of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Piyo in a message signed by Martha Nyam, her Chief Press Secretary, felicitates with Christians in the state on the 2023 Christmas celebration, said the birth of Jesus Christ conveys God’s divine plan for salvation which must not be lost in the euphoria of celebrations.

“Amidst the festivities, let us remember the true meaning of Christmas, we should imbibe the spirit of love, unity, and compassion. Let us all embrace the spirit of togetherness, reaching out to those in need and spreading goodwill throughout our communities.

“May this festive season bring us closer as a state, and foster harmony, understanding, and shared prosperity”

Piyo expressed heartfelt condolences to the good people of Mangu and Bokkos LGAs on the recent attacks on their communities.

While expressing regret and sadness over the killings during the festive period, she called on residents to remain calm and report to the security agencies any suspicious activity to the relevant authorities.

She wished the state a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.
