Yobe State Government has distributed 125 commercial pick-up Tricycles also known as JEGA and 125 commercial Keke NAPEP, irrigation water pumps and accessories, 125 commercial pick-up Tricycles “JEGA”, in order to provide means of livelihood to 500 youths dwelling in rural communities.
Similarly, this singular gesture was aimed at empowering and supporting the youths through skill acquisition where materials such as barbing saloon kits, pasta-making machines and hairdressing materials, and sewing machines, were equally distributed for them to be self-reliant.
Ministry of Wealth Creation, Empowerment and Employment Generation in conjunction with the State Emergency Management Agency were responsible for providing the support.
During the launching and distribution exercise, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni stated that the current administration under his watch is ever ready to support the small-scale businesses.
Buni said, “I believed our efforts will drive radical change in terms of various empowerment programmes that will speed up recovery via post-insurgency agenda for the state.
In his address, the Commissioner Yobe State Ministry of Wealth Creation Empowerment and Employment Generation, Mallam Abdullahi Bego used the opportunity to commend the Governor for the support giving to his Ministry to carry out what is expected of her towards providing relief to the masses In the state irrespective of their religious believes, ethnicity, political affiliations as well as social background.
