Yobe Medical Doctors Opt Out of NLC Strike

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Yobe State Chapter, has dissociated itself from the ongoing nationwide strike called by the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC).

The association’s Chairman, Dr. Abubakar Mala, made this known to newsmen in Damaturu, stating that the state’s NMA has decided not to join the strike.

According to Dr. Mala, the decision to opt out of the strike was taken to ensure uninterrupted medical services to residents of the state.

He emphasized that the NMA’s priority is to provide continuous medical attention to those in need, and therefore, doctors, nurses, and other health workers are available to attend to patients.

Dr. Mala assured that clinics remain open, and surgeries are ongoing, stressing that the NMA’s decision to distance itself from the strike was to prioritize the health and well-being of residents.

He urged residents to access healthcare services without hesitation, assuring them of the availability of medical professionals to attend to their needs.
