The Yobe State Police Command,through the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters, has arrested 35-year-old Hadiza Mamuda of Garin Abba Village, Fika LGA, for allegedly killing her husband following a heated argument over food.
This was disclosed in a statement by SP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force,Yobe State Command,and made available to journalists in Damaturu
According to the statement,the suspect reportedly used a wooden log to fatally assault the victim.
“An investigation is underway, and the suspect will be arraigned in court in due course
“The victim, a polygamous man with two wives and five children (including the accused), leaves behind a grieving family”.
The Commissioner of Police,CP Emmanuel Ado,stressed the need for community-based marital intervention initiatives to curb domestic violence and abuse.
He also urged religious leaders to intensify awareness campaigns on the dangers of physical violence in marriages.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the security and safety of all citizens.
