In a press statement by SP Dungus Abdulkareem the PPRO of the command said, On 13th September, 2025 at about 0700hrs, following a distress call from the guardian of an 11-year-old female survivor from Maiduwa Village, Fika LGA, operatives of the Fika Divisional Police Headquarters promptly apprehended one Ishiaku Bukar, 22 years, of the same address.

The suspect lured the survivor to his farm under the pretext of offering assistance with a promise of reward, but instead took advantage of the situation and raped her.

During interrogation, the suspect confessed to the crime. Investigation is ongoing, while medical evaluation and treatment of the survivor have commenced.

As farming activities resume across the State, reports of harassment and abuse against women and children engaged as farmhands have occasionally been received.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, psc, fdc, urges members of the public to remain vigilant and report all suspicious persons who take advantage of farming activities to harass or abuse women and children.
