By Sani Gazas Chinade, Damaturu

The Yobe State Government has reiterated its commitment to selecting the most qualified candidates in the ongoing Nigerian Army recruitment exercise.

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Security Matters, Brig. Gen. Dahiru Abdul-Salam (Rtd), made this assurance during his inspection of the screening exercise for the 88 Regular Recruit Intake at the 241 Recce Model Battalion, Nguru, on Monday, December 16, 2024.

Brig. Gen. Abdul-Salam emphasized the state government’s dedication to ensuring transparency and merit-based recruitment, stating, “The military is a reputable institution, and there can be no compromise in its recruitment process.”

He warned candidates against attempting to bribe officials to secure placement, stressing that such actions undermine the integrity of the military and the state’s commitment to fairness.

Adamu Baba Umar, the Director of Recruitment Services at the Governor’s Office, commended the recruitment committee for their diligence and professionalism in conducting the exercise.

He expressed optimism that the process would yield competent individuals to fill the state’s quota in the Nigerian Army.
