The Executive Director of the Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS), Zainab Nasir Ahmad, has been honoured with the Youth Leadership Award by the Gamji Educational and Mentorship Forum (GEMF) for her exemplary leadership, vision, and commitment to youth empowerment and social transformation.
The award was presented at the inaugural Gamji Mentorship Summit – Kano 2025, organised by GEMF under the theme, “Connecting Youth to Global Opportunities Through Mentorship.”
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Organising Committee, Dr. Sunusi M. Manladan, described the summit as a groundbreaking platform designed to bridge the gap between ambition and achievement among youths in Northern Nigeria.
He urged young people across the region to seize the opportunities provided through mentorship and collaboration with visionary leaders, scholars, and changemakers attending the summit.
“From keynote insights by leading academics to inspiring panel discussions and interactions with innovators shaping education, technology, and leadership, this summit serves as a catalyst for youth development,” Dr. Manladan said.
He added that the forum’s long-term goal goes beyond mentorship, aiming to “mentor, connect, and inspire the next generation of global achievers.”
Founded by Northern Nigerian academics in the diaspora, the Gamji Educational and Mentorship Forum focuses on career development, entrepreneurship, education, and access to global scholarship opportunities for young people.
In her acceptance speech, Zainab Nasir Ahmad expressed gratitude to the organisers for the honour and dedicated the award to young Nigerians who continue to strive for excellence despite numerous challenges.
She reaffirmed her commitment to advancing youth empowerment through mentorship, leadership training, and community-driven initiatives.
