Birnin Magaji, who said the party had received with shock the death of the former gubernatorial candidate whose immense contributions towards development of the APC in the state could not be easily forgotten.

“The role played by late Sagir Hamidu in building the existing APC structures in Zamfara State, the Northwest and the nation will remain as legacy even to the generations yet to come and will continue to serve as a thought of learning peace, unity and political tolerance in the future”, the statement has added.

Similarly, Governor Bello Matawalle-led faction has condoled the family, the APC and the entire people of the state over the death, assuring that the State Government will continue to honor the late Sagir Hamida.

In a statement by the Director General Press Affairs Government House Gusau, Malam Yusuf Idris, Governor Matawalle said Sagir Hamida will be remembered for his various contributions towards the political and socio-economic growth of the state where his death created a wide gap that will be difficult to fill.

Matawalle said death is inevitable but loosing a worthy son like Sagir Hamida is a great loss and very painful and his contribution will remain indelible in the minds of the people of the state.
