18,000 Students Graduate as Dangote Varsity Holds 5th Convocation

The Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology, Wudil, is set to hold its 5th Convocation Ceremony, during which 18,000 students who graduated over the past seven years will be formally recognized and celebrated.

Speaking at a pre-convocation press briefing on Tuesday, the university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Musa Yakasai, announced that the institution will also confer honorary doctorate degrees on five distinguished Nigerians in recognition of their exceptional contributions to national development and humanitarian service.

Prime Time News reports that the honourees include Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, Chief Author Eze, Dr. Adeniyi Raji (SAN), Alhaji Ado Mohammad, and Senator Musa Kwankwaso. Prof. Yakasai said the recipients were carefully selected based on their exemplary character and service to society.

He noted that the convocation activities would begin on Wednesday and assured the public that adequate security measures have been put in place to safeguard lives and property throughout the event.

In a major highlight of the ceremony, Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, will be reappointed as Chancellor of the university for a second term. In addition, the Governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf, will serve as the official Visitor to the university during the convocation.

Prof. Yakasai expressed appreciation to the Kano State Government for providing the necessary logistics and support to ensure a smooth and successful convocation.
