2025 Hajj: Jigawa deposits N4.5 billion to NAHCON

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has deposited N4.5 billion to National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for 2025 Hajj exercise.
This was was announced by the Director General of Jigawa state pilgrims welfare board, Ahmed Umar Labbo while updating journalists on the 2025 Hajj preparation.
DG Lobbo explained that, the NAHCON allocated 1,809 Hajj seats to Jigawa state for this year’s Hajj exercise and urged all states to deposit the money within stipulated time.
“As I’m speaking to you now, Jigawa state pilgrims welfare and welfare board deposited over N4 billion loan to NAHCON which is generated both from intending pilgrims and some from state government as a loan”, he said.
He noted that during the 2024 Hajj operation, each pilgrim from Jigawa State received a refund of N1.5 million, resulting in a total payment of approximately above N5 million per pilgrim.
Labbo urged the intending pilgrims who have not completed their payment to do so within the next seven days, as a one-week grace period has been granted.
Saying this move aimed at ensuring that all pilgrims are adequately prepared for the Hajj operations.
The DG said the State Government’s support for the Pilgrims Welfare Board demonstrates its commitment to facilitating a successful Hajj experience for its citizens.
He therefore said with the necessary arrangements in place, pilgrims from Jigawa State can look forward to a comfortable and spiritual experience in Makkah.
