Former Secretary to Katsina State Government (SSG) and a chieftain of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dr Mustapha Inuwa, has urged youth to shun all forms of political thuggery during the 2027 general elections.
Inuwa made the call on Thursday in Katsina during an awareness forum for the youth in Katsina Senatorial Zone, organised by the office of the ADC State Youth Leader, Aliyu Umar.
“We are committed to bringing back peace, stability and prosperity in the state.
“Whenever things went wrong, it is a duty upon all to contribute to reverse the situation.
“Especially the youth, you have a long way to go, you are the majority, and you may live longer if Allah grants you long life,” the ex-SSG said.
He, therefore, urged the youth to use their youthful agility to contribute to the development of the state.
“Do not go to events with weapons, respect all people. We have been telling youth that, those who are asking you to be violent, where are their children?
“Some of their children are working, while others are in schools. When the government is formed, they will benefit more than the thugs.
“So, if you continue with such life, it means you have chosen to be poor for life. Look for a business to do to earn a living,” he advised.
Inuwa revealed that ADC had condemned political thuggery in all ramifications, saying, “the party is always after doing the right thing to restore peace and stability in the state.”
He used the medium to call on party members to be united, remove love for worldly materials and intensify prayers for the party to win the 2027 general elections.
In his remarks, the party Chairman, Alhaji Musa Usman-Wamba, encouraged members to obtain their voter cards, insisting that PVCs remained the vital weapon to be used during the 2027 elections and beyond.
“I call on all supporters to join hands with the party leaders in building the party to enable it win the elections and restore peace and stability,” he urged.
