209 Graduands Bag First Class Honours at Federal University Dutse

A total of 209 undergraduate students of the Federal University Dutse (FUD) have graduated with First Class honours for the combined 2022/2023 and 2023/2024 academic sessions.

This was disclosed by the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Abdulkarim Sabo Muhammed, during a pre-convocation press briefing held at the Senate Chamber of the institution on Monday.

He revealed that the 8th and 9th combined convocation ceremony is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 5th July 2025, at the university’s Convocation Square by 9:30 a.m.

According to the Vice Chancellor, a total of 4,227 students will be graduating from 45 academic departments across 10 faculties.

Giving a breakdown of the results, Professor Muhammed stated that for the 2022/2023 session, 99 students graduated with First Class, 544 with Second Class Upper, 879 with Second Class Lower, and 321 with Third Class.

For the 2023/2024 academic session, he added that 110 students earned First Class honours, 727 made Second Class Upper, 1,155 obtained Second Class Lower, while 283 graduated with Third Class.

He also announced that a convocation lecture will precede the ceremony on Friday, 4th July 2025, at 4:00 p.m. at the Nuhu Muhammadu Sunusi Auditorium.

The lecture will be delivered by the pioneer Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Jibirilla Dahiru Amin, and is titled: “Harnessing Research and Innovation for Sustainable Development in Nigeria: The Role of Higher Education Institutions.”
