351 Days After Miyetti Allah Vice President Goes Missing, Family Cries Out for Support

The family of Engr. Mannir Atiku Lamido, the Vice President of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), has issued a heartfelt plea for support as they continue to search for their missing loved one.

Engr. Lamido vanished on June 23, 2023, during a trip from Katsina to Kaduna State, and his disappearance has since remained a disturbing mystery.

In a statement signed by Mal. Abdullah Balarabe, the son of Engr. Lamido and the National Vice President of MACBAN, the family expressed deep concern and frustration over the lack of progress in the investigation. “Engr. Mannir Atiku Lamido is a well-respected and dedicated personality whose patriotic contributions to nation-building have significantly benefited his community and the larger society,” the statement read.

Despite the recovery of his car, phones, and other belongings, which could have provided critical leads, the investigation has stalled. The statement emphasized the family’s growing anxiety about Lamido’s safety and well-being, citing the deletion of data from his phones and networks as evidence of a highly professional operation by those responsible for his disappearance.

“The fact that all data on his phones and that on the networks were cleaned shows a high level of professionalism from those responsible for his disappearance,” the family noted.

The family has called on the Federal Government, Katsina State Government, security agencies, the National Human Rights Commission, and the leadership of MACBAN to intensify their efforts in resolving this case. “The lack of any update in the investigation does not inspire confidence because we believe the wiping of data from the network is a national security breach,” they asserted.

In their plea, the family demanded swift and decisive action to address the crisis. “As a family, friends, and colleagues of Engr. Mannir, we demand a swift and decisive response to this crisis. His disappearance is a test of our collective commitment to justice, human rights, and the rule of law in this country. We must act to ensure his safe return and prevent further harm,” they urged.

The statement by Mal. Abdullah Balarabe concludes with a call to all well-meaning personalities to join them in their quest for justice and to ensure that Engr. Mannir Atiku Lamido is brought back safely.
