90% of Child Traffickers in Kano Are Caught by Hisbah – Official

The Kano State Hisbah Board has disclosed that 90% of child trafficking cases successfully prosecuted by NAPTIP (National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons) in court are based on arrests made by Hisbah.
This was revealed by the Director-General of the Kano Hisbah, Mal. Abba Sa’idu Sufi, who represented Chief Commander Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa during a visit by the Kano Patriotic Front (KPF) to Hisbah’s headquarters on Tuesday.
Regarding family relations, Mal. Sufi explained that 70% of Hisbah’s activities focus on resolving marital issues within the community, while the remaining 30% involves other daily tasks.
He praised the efforts of the KPF and assured them that Hisbah is always open to collaboration.
Earlier, retired Major General Ibrahim Sani, Chairman of the KPF, stated that their visit aimed to commend Hisbah’s timely interventions and strengthen ties. He also expressed a desire to restore Kano’s commercial and cultural prestige within Nigeria and Africa.
Sani concluded by stressing the importance of Kano’s reputation, emphasizing that people from Kano should stand out positively wherever they go, with good character and morals. He expressed confidence that through collaboration, their goals for the state would be achieved with God’s help.
