Ramadan: Ex-house leader Doguwa shares N100m, foodstuffs to constituents

A Former Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, has in the spirit of the month of Ramadan, shared N100 million cash to hundreds of his Constituents.

Doguwa, who is also the current Chairman of House Committee on Downstream Petroleum, said the gesture was also intended to cushion the effects of economic hardships on them.

In a statement he signed and distributed newsmen in Kano on Sunday,the lawmaker said the assistance was also to complement the Federal Government’s efforts to address hunger and starvation in the country.

“I distributed a total sum of N100 million in cash to my party members and other members of the public, as my small contribution to the Federal Government’s serious measures in tackling poverty in the land,” Doguwa said.

Other items he distributed to the constituents he said,includes 2. 2000 bags of rice in 25bgs, 300 bags of millets, 200 units of water pumping machines to boost irrigation farming and 100 Deep Freezers to help women involved in small businesses.

“Other items, I gave out include 1000 bags of Cement, 500 bundles of Roofing Zinc, all aimed at mitigating the suffering of the people of my constituency.

“We will continue to do that periodically to support and complement the efforts of the Federal and State Government to improve the living conditions of our vulnerable populace,” Doguwa said.

He added that already, the impact of the gesture could be visibly seen on the faces of the beneficiaries, as most of them promised to use the largesse to revive their businesses.
