We Are Committed to Promoting School Enrollment Figures – Sheik Ngibirima
By Ahmad Mujahid
Sheik Muhammad Ngibirima, the son of the renowned Islamic Scholar Malam Mannir Sheik Muhammad Ngibirima, serves on the Nguru Local Government Task Force Committee on Education.
Alongside fellow committee members, he continues to actively engage with communities in Nguru Local Government, particularly those facing educational disadvantages, urging them to promptly enroll their children in both Islamic and modern systems of education.
Addressing communities such as Dagirari and the nomadic community of Nochomski within Nguru Local Government Area, Sheik Muhammad Ngibirima emphasized the importance of education and encouraged families to prioritize sending their children to school.
He remarked, “Your population is growing day by day, making it essential for you to abandon outdated notions opposing modern education. In the past, there was significant resistance to modern education within your communities”
“However, it’s imperative for you to embrace change for the better. Continuing along the same path will only lead to stagnation as a community, and this is a reality”
During the engagement in Nochomski Community, the committee, comprising Chairman Alh. Gana Mustapha, Secretary, Ag. Education Secretary Mallam Hamisu Ado, UNICEF Facilitator Mallam Garba Umar, and Mallam Mustapha Shettima, advocated for increased enrollment in formal schools.
They emphasized that the educational level of any nation correlates with its development and growth.
A significant aspect of the engagement was the symbolic distribution of free school uniforms and teaching and learning materials to vulnerable children in the community.
