FEMNET Organises 3 Days Dialogue With NGOs, Media and FG’s Stakeholders

The FEMNET or African Women’s Development and Communication Network has organized a three days training and dialogue among media, non government organizations and government stakeholder on Gender-responsive budget advocacy and media reportage and analysis.

The session focused on the Gender-responsive budget advocacy and linkage and learning activities that strengthening participants’ knowledge, expertise, and
collective capacity.

The dialogue which was conducted in Johnwoood hotel by Bolton Abuja toilored the action points for strategic and cohesive approach toward advocating for budget allocations that prioritise gender equality and advance sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRH-R).

The workshop was attended by the team of the Niger Republic of the organization, media team and Nigerian ministry of health and women affairs representatives.

Many non governmental organizations from Nigeria, Niger Republic and media reporters has attended and many issues, problems or challenges facing women were raised and solutions was also made.

During the program the attendees from different organizations were been equipped with the skills and knowledge to advocate for budgets that prioritize gender equity and equality and media personal collaborated with government stakeholders and non governmental organisers in creating awareness to the public.

The first two days of the program
assessed and analyzed policies that impact all vulnerable populations with intersecting realities, ensuring resources are allocating to address the unique needs of women and girls in their diversities, promoting equal opportunities and access to services and driving sustainable development and inclusive growth.

FEMNET is an organization established in 1984 to promote women’s development in Africa and helps non-government organizations share information and approaches on women’s development, equality and other human rights
