Kano Govt Remains Committed To Emancipation Of Common Man – Gov Yusuf

Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State says his administration remains committed to implementing the blueprint of its vision and mission as its guiding principle for the emancipation of the common man.
Yusuf made the remarks at the 64th National Independence Day parade held at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kofar Mata,Kano, on Tuesday.
He also said that the State Government remains focused towards fulfilling its promises of delivering people-oriented projects that will have a positive impact on the lives of the masses and the general development of the state.
“In this regard, despite the numerous challenges, especially in respect of the state of the economy, we have managed, within the short period of our administration, to turn around the fortunes of our dear state by undertaking many significant strides towards implementing our development agenda to ensure the restoration of the lost glory of Kano as commercial nerve Centre of not only Northern Nigeria but also sub Saharan Africa.
“We have identified key sectors that are critical to our development, and we are working tirelessly to ensure that we deliver tangible results to our people,” he said.
He said considering the fact that education remains the bedrock of development in any society, “hence the reason why we have made it a priority to improve our schools, train our teachers, and expand access to quality education for every child in Kano State.”
According to him, the government is working to ensure that no child is left behind, regardless of their background or location.
“Our goal is to equip the next generation with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in an increasingly competitive world.
“We will continue to work tirelessly to improve the lives of our people, foster inclusive growth, and build a society where every citizen can fulfill his/her potential and contribute meaningfully to our collective progress,” the governor said.
He said the State Government would continue to accord priority to agriculture so as to boost food production “as our goal is to increase agricultural productivity, ensure food security, and create more job opportunities for our citizens in the sector.”
The Independence Day was low key and celebrated peacefully across the state, though under heavy security to prevent any breach of the peace likely to be caused by the planned nationwide anti-hunger protests.
The protests did not take place in the state as it was feared,as residents went about their normal businesses unhindered.
