NSCDC Apprehends Two Suspected Armed Robbers in Kano
In a significant breakthrough, operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kano have apprehended two suspected armed robbers believed to be involved in multiple criminal activities, including phone snatching and drug dealing.

According to the statement, the suspects, identified as Abdullahi Ibrahim, 22, from Tinshama, and Faisal Iliyasu, 20, from Challawa/Rangaza, both in Nassarawa, Ungoggo local government areas, were arrested during a nighttime operation on the Eastern Bypass near Mohiba Filling Station, Hotoro. The arrest, which occurred at around 1 a.m. on September 30, 2024, followed sustained monitoring and surveillance by the Corps’ patrol team.
“During the operation, NSCDC officers from Area Command F recovered several incriminating items, including a locally made gun, a jet knife, and a cutlass. The arrested suspects are part of a four-man criminal syndicate, with two of their accomplices still at large. The Corps is actively pursuing efforts to apprehend the remaining suspects.
“Preliminary investigations reveal that the gang has been involved in various criminal activities, such as armed robbery, phone snatching, and drug-related offenses, terrorizing residents along Hadejia Road and Dakata areas of Kano State.”
The NSCDC has confirmed that investigations are ongoing, and legal proceedings will follow once the investigation is concluded.
