Dangin Juna Afirka Doles Out N700, 000 to Assist 70 Vulnerable Individuals in Zaria

No fewer than 70 vulnerable individuals, including widows, have benefited from a cash donation by a non-governmental organization, Dangin Juna Afirka Initiative (DJAI), aimed at alleviating hardship and empowering them to become self-reliant. Each of the 70 beneficiaries in Zaria, Kaduna State, received ten thousand naira to support their small businesses.

Speaking during the program at the Zazzau Emirate Palace, the Emir of Zazzau, Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, praised the group for their noble initiative, stating that they deserved recognition for their efforts.

“People are struggling to make ends meet, and everyone is facing life’s challenges. At this difficult time, Dangin Juna Afirka has taken it upon themselves to support the poor and vulnerable. Only God Almighty can truly reward them for their efforts,” said the Emir, who was represented by the Marafan Dawakin Zazzau, Shehu Turaki.

The Emir made this commendation during the group’s 9th Annual Humanitarian Program, where 70 less privileged women, widows, and elderly men were selected and given ten thousand naira each to boost their economic activities.

Shehu Turaki noted that the initiative was the first of its kind in the Zazzau Emirate, especially at a time like this when a non-governmental organization provided such a significant amount to empower the people.

He called on wealthy individuals and groups to partner with DJAI, assuring them that their donations would reach the intended beneficiaries.

In his remarks, the chairman of DJAI, Usman BK Katsina, explained that the group considers this charity work a duty and responsibility. He stated that every year, members contribute, regardless of the amount, and collectively decide on the best way to serve their community.

“Last year, at this time, we dug three wells in Kaduna, including one on Abuja Road and two in Badarawa. We also renovated the Bashama Road graveyard, all in memory of our late members. Additionally, we have supported various programs in states like Niger, Bauchi, Gombe, Jigawa, Kaduna, and now Zaria,” Usman said.

He also urged other groups and wealthy individuals to emulate Dangin Juna’s efforts, stressing that such acts of kindness would reduce redundancy and begging among youths and the vulnerable. “There’s no way someone who has been given capital to boost their business would continue begging,” he added
