Zamfara APC lauds NUJ for developmental project

The Zamfara state chapter of the All Progressive Congress APC has commended the state council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists for execution development projects at the state press centre that will enhance journalism profession among working journalists in the state.

The state publicity secretary of the party Yusuf Idris made the commendation when he paid a courtesy visit to the office of the state chairman of the Union in Gusau the state capital Wednesday.

According to him, the ICT center provided with the union would go along way to assisting journalists to work easily in reporting events in the state.

“Indeed what I have seen in the ICT center provided by the NUJ under the leadership of the state chairman Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare is a welcome ideas and it would improve artificial intelligence and capacity building among working journalists in their daily reportage”. He added

According to him, the state chapter of the All Progressive Congress APC will do everything possible to assist the Union when the needs arise for the development of journalism profession in the state.

He also applauded the state Council of NUJ for providing solar powered boreholes at the state press centre for effective portable water supply to journalists in the state.

He appealed to working journalists in the state to cooperate with the state council of NUJ leadership and shun any form of sensational reports that could cause damage to the reputation of anyone in the state.

Speaking earlier, the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Ibrahim Musa Maizare stated that the project was provided by the Zamfara state community and social development agency under NG-Cares program.

He commended the state publicity secretary for the visit and assured that journalists in the state will always work based on the ethics of their profession.
