Kano Govt ,IDB, LLF Construct N11 billion Kilometer Roads In 10 Communities

Kano State Government through the Kano State Agro-Pastoral Development Project (KSADP) in partnership with the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) and Lives and Livelihood Funds(LLF) is constructing 70 kilometers of roads in ten locations in the state.
The sum of about N11 billion is being spent on the projects aimed at facilitating smooth transportation of people and goods among the benefiting communities.
The infrastructure engineer of the project,Zahraddeen Hamisu Zarewa,told newsmen at one of the ten locations, Gwangwan in Dawakin Local Government Area on Tuesday, that the projects are at various stages of completion.
Zarewa said the Gwangwan road is 7.5 kilometers long with drainage network to facilitate easy flow of water.
He said another 7.5 kilometer road is being constructed between Milgoma and Yankstsare, also in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.
Other benefiting communities he said,are:Zarewa-Fulatan in Rogo Local Government Area, and Wasai-Baitai-Gezawa and Dambatta-Diggol, adding that all the roads are expected to be completed by March 31, 2025.
The infrastructure engineer said the State Government is providing $5 million to fund the projects, while the Islamic Development Bank(IBD) is giving $90 million.
Out of the $90 million being contributed by the IDB, he explained, Lives and Livelihood Funds(LLF) is providing $6.8 million “as a grant, not as a loan.”
