Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration remains committed to enhancing the welfare of civil servants and retirees, ensuring they reap the rewards of their years of service.
In a press release signed by Buba Lawan, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Governor, Buni assured the public at a forum in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital, of his administration’s dedication to improving the lives of pensioners.
The Governor highlighted the recent increment in pension payments, with retirees now receiving an additional ₦32,000. He noted that this increase, implemented in December 2024, has significantly boosted the purchasing power of pensioners, helping them navigate the economic challenges facing the country.
Governor Buni further emphasized that this increment, the first of its kind since the creation of Yobe State, is a milestone achieved under his leadership.
“The enhancement in retirees’ wages is a testament to our commitment to improving their living standards and ensuring they enjoy a dignified life after years of dedicated service,” Governor Buni stated.
