Kano Govt Extends C of O Recertification Deadline
By Abdullahi Yusuf
The Kano State Government has extended the deadline for the recertification of Certificates of Occupancy (C of O) by 60 days.
The exercise, which began on November 25, 2024, was initially set to conclude on January 31, 2025, but will now continue until April 1, 2025.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Land and Physical Planning, Muhammad Musbahu Yahuza, commended the public for their strong response to the recertification process.
He acknowledged concerns over the initial deadline and assured property owners that the extension would allow sufficient time to complete the process.
Yahuza urged all land and property owners who have not yet recertified their ownership documents to take advantage of the extension, warning that failure to comply could result in the forfeiture of property rights under existing regulations.
The recertification exercise is being conducted at the Kano State Geographic Information System (KANGIS) office.
