IWD: Kano speaker celebrates women

The Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ismail Falgore, has extended his felicitations to women in Kano and beyond as they celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day.

This is contained in a statement issued in Kano on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Kamaludeen Shawai.

Falgore described this year’s theme, “For All Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” as a timely reminder of the pivotal roles women play in both the family and society.

The speaker emphasised the significant contributions of women in nurturing values such as morality, discipline, and hard work, all of which had played an essential role in societal development.

He commended their unwavering commitment to fulfilling their responsibilities, stating, “Their responsiveness to their duties is never in question, as they consistently meet expectations with dedication.”

The speaker further noted that the day served as an opportunity to acknowledge the extraordinary contributions of women to society.

“On behalf of the Kano State House of Assembly, I express my deep appreciation. We salute and thank you for your invaluable contributions throughout history,” Falgore said.

He also commended the women of Kano for their resilience, dedication, and visible contributions to the progress and development of the state.

Falgore reaffirmed his commitment to legislative efforts aimed at enhancing the welfare and quality of life for women in Kano State. (NAN)
