From Umar Dankano, Yola

In a bid to enhance awareness of its core mission in promoting children’s well-being and welfare, UNICEF’s Bauchi Field Office is set to launch its maiden newsletter, titled Lafiyyayun Yara, which will highlight its activities across its catchment areas.

The Communications Officer of the Bauchi Field Office, Mr. Opeyemi Olagunju, announced the development in a statement on Saturday. He emphasized that the newsletter, written in Hausa, aims to promote children’s rights and welfare in the region.

The Bauchi Field Office covers five states: Adamawa, Gombe, Taraba, Plateau, and Bauchi.

Olagunju explained that the newsletter will focus on critical issues such as children’s access to education, healthcare, nutrition, protection, and overall well-being.

“We hope to amplify our joint efforts with governments in the Field Office region, share progress, and provide insights into how we can contribute to creating positive change for children,” he stated.

He further revealed that the maiden edition will showcase the office’s activities over the past year, while the next edition is scheduled for release in April 2025.

Expressing appreciation to journalists for their support, Olagunju urged for continued collaboration in advocating for children’s rights and amplifying their voices in the region.
