The Kano State Government says it has approved over N2 billion for payment of compensation to communities affected by the Kabuga-Dayi federal road project.
The affected communities include those in Ungoggo, Rimin Gado, Tofa, Kabo and Gwarzo Local Government Areas.
The State Commissioner for Special duties Alhaji Nasiru Sule Garo, disclosed this while addressing residents of the affected communities.
Garo said the compensation process was aimed at providing relief and succour to the affected individuals and communities.
He said the initiative demonstrated the government’s commitment to ensure fair treatment and support for its citizens, particularly those affected by development projects.
He said Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had already approved and released the N2 billion for the payment of the compensation to people from the five local government areas.
The Commissioner urged all affected persons who have yet to receive their payments to visit the state Ministry of Land and Physical Planning with the relevant documents for verification and payment of their compensation.
“Adequate measures and strategies have been put in place to ensure a smooth and transparent payment process,” he assured.
