Ex-IGP Adamu tournament kicks off in Nasarawa
Sixteen clubs are currently competing in the Former Inspector General of Police Mohammed Adamu Tournament in Nasarawa State.
The competition was organized by Progressives Youth Forum for Mohammed Adamu and the final will be played on Friday May 16 at Science School Football Field, Lafia.
Recently Mohammed Adamu indicated interest to contest in the 2027 governorship election in the state.
Secretary Progressives Youth Forum for Mohammed Adamu, Comrade Haliru Umar, said that competition was organized to bring more unity and peace among the youth and the citizens of Nasarawa state.
Haliru Umar said, “Football has the power to unite youth. We organize this tournament to encourage youth on career development and bring them together ahead of the 2027 governorship election in the state.
“We also used this opportunity to enlighten the youth on the importance of good leadership at all levels. Since we all agree that the Former Inspector of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has youth at heart and he will contest to improve their lives. Because of this, we decided to organize this tournament to encourage him.”
