The Fudiyyah School in Rijiyar Lemo, under the guidance of Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN), celebrated the graduation of 185 students who memorized the Holy Qur’an during the 14th National Qur’an Memorization Day held on Sunday in Kano.
The event attracted IMN leaders from across the country and highlighted the school’s longstanding commitment to Islamic education.
Speaking at the ceremony, the head master of the Fudiyyah School, Sidi Almujittapha Fagge, revealed that among the 185 graduates, 58 were full memorizers of the Qur’an, known as Hafiz.
“This year, we have 185 students graduating, out of which 58 are Hafiz. This marks the 14th edition of the event,” he said, emphasizing the school’s ongoing dedication to nurturing religious scholarship.
Fagge also noted that the institution offers a broader curriculum beyond Qur’anic memorization, including Arabic, Aqidah (Islamic theology), and other Islamic texts.
Chairman of the school’s Parents Committee, Muhammad Auwal Sa’id, commended the school authorities and Sheikh El-Zakzaky for their efforts in educating the younger generation. He expressed hope that the students would continue their studies and later return to teach others.
One of the graduates, Alhassan Sulaiman, who completed the memorization of the entire Qur’an, shared his excitement, describing the moment as “indescribable.”
The ceremony also featured recitations from the Qur’an and poetry in praise of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), adding a spiritual touch to the celebrations.
