JISEPA, UNICEF lead hundreds of youths, students on tree planting in Jigawa

The Jigawa State Environmental Protection Agency with support from United Nation’s Children Education Fund (UNICEF), lead hundreds of Jigawa state students for tree planting campaign.

The campaign which is part of the celebration of 2025 Desertification and drought day, started from new Secretariat Dutse to major roads across the capital city of the state.

While speaking to journalists, the managing Director Jigawa State Environmental Agency, Sanatarian Adamu Sabo said, the move is part of present administration twelve points agenda to address environmental degradation as well turning the challenges into economic benefit.

“Today our agency (JISEP), with support from United Nation’s Children Education Fund ( UNICEF) commenced massive enlightenment campaign and awareness on environmental threats.

“As you can see hundreds of youths and students were invited for the 500 tree planting and it’s protectors in Dutse metropolis with aims to reduce environmental challenges and restore land against erosion, air pollution among other climate changes”, Sabo said.

According to him, Jigawa state is one of the state facing environmental desertification and drought that need to be control, adding that, by adopting tree planting habits the challenges could be solve.

He then urged, the Jigawa people particularly youths to support governor Malam Umar Namadi’s move of making Jigawa better state.
