Reps Minority Whip Tasks Politicians on Fulfilling Campaign Pledges

By Laraba Usman

The Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Ali Isa, has called on politicians across the country to honour their campaign promises and remain accountable to the people.

He made the appeal while flagging off the reconstruction of the Nyuwar 6.4 and Jessu4.6 km roads in Balanga Local Government Area of Gombe State, describing the project as part of his pledge to deliver the dividends of democracy to his constituents.

Ali Isa stressed that elected leaders should always showcase what they have achieved as evidence of their commitment to good governance. He assured residents of his determination to fulfil all promises made during his campaign before the end of the Tenth Assembly’s tenure.

In addition to the road projects, the lawmaker highlighted other completed initiatives, including the construction of classroom blocks in Nyuwar and Jessu, installation of solar-powered water systems and streetlights, improved healthcare services, provision of an ambulance for the Nyuwar/Jessu ward, and job opportunities for local youths.

He commended the residents of Gombe State for their peaceful disposition and criticised the disruptive actions of some members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) during the recent North East zonal meeting held in Gombe.

Speaking at the flag-off, the Gombe State Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Magaji Mijinyawa, described Ali Isa as one of the party’s pillars and a worthy representative for Gombe State and Nigeria.

Former Deputy Governor Thaanda Rubainu also praised Ali Isa’s efforts to improve living standards in the Balanga/Billiri Federal Constituency and called on the people of Gombe State to support Gombe South in producing the next governor in 2027.
