Governor Yusuf Orders Immediate Rehabilitation of Kano French and Chinese College
In a renewed push to revamp the education sector, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of Kano State has ordered the immediate and comprehensive rehabilitation of the state-owned College for French and Chinese Languages, located in Kwankwaso town, Madobi Local Government Area.
The directive followed an unscheduled visit by the governor to the institution, where he inspected facilities and interacted with students and staff. Governor Yusuf said the visit was aimed at personally assessing both the state of infrastructure and the welfare of those learning and working at the college.
“I’m here on an unscheduled visit to see, firsthand, the living conditions of our students and teachers, as well as to assess the infrastructural state of the school,” the governor said. “I am very impressed with the students’ performance, especially their fluency in speaking Chinese. However, I am concerned about the deplorable state of the infrastructure.”
Expressing satisfaction with the students’ academic progress, particularly their proficiency in foreign languages, Governor Yusuf nonetheless decried the poor state of school facilities. He then directed the state Commissioner for Works to immediately commence a full-scale rehabilitation of all buildings and deteriorating structures on the campus.
The intervention is part of the administration’s broader efforts to enhance the quality of teaching and learning across the state.
The press statement was signed by the Honourable Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya.
