NUC Approves Ten New Academic Programmes for Northwest University Kano
The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted full-time approval for the establishment of ten new academic programmes at Northwest University Kano, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.
The approved courses include:
1. B.Sc. Nursing Science
2. Doctor of Physiotherapy (D.PT.)
3. Bachelor of Radiography (B.Rad.)
4. B.Sc. Pharmacology
5. B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Science (B.MLS)
6. B.Sc. Human Nutrition and Dietetics
7. B.Sc. Public Administration
8. Masters and Postgraduate Diploma in Information Management
9. Master of Library and Information Science (M.LIS)
10. Postgraduate Diploma, M.Sc., and Ph.D. in Biochemistry
The development marks a significant milestone in the university’s academic expansion, aimed at meeting the growing demand for skilled professionals across various fields.
In a congratulatory message, Kano State Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Higher Education, Comrade Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, praised the university’s management, staff, and community for the achievement. He commended Vice Chancellor Professor Mukhtar Atiku Kurawa for his leadership and dedication to positioning Northwest University Kano as a hub of academic excellence and innovation.
