El’s Empowerment Foundation Celebrates Future Leaders at Children’s Walima

Els Empowerment Foundation successfully concluded the second edition of its highly anticipated Children’s Walima event, held at the prestigious Nassarawa Palace on August 20th and 21st, 2025.

The celebratory gathering brought together over 750 children for two days of enriching activities, games, and intellectual engagement, marking a significant community initiative during the school vacation period.

In his address, the Kano State Coordinator of Els Empowerment Foundation, Mr. Musa Sani Aliyu, emphasized the event’s core mission: to bring joy and intellectual stimulation to the youth.

“With children on a six-week vacation, our objective was to create a platform for them to engage their minds, connect with their peers, and simply have fun in a positive and uplifting environment,” stated Mr. Aliyu.

“We believe that nurturing happiness is fundamental to nurturing well-rounded future leaders.”

Demonstrating its deep commitment to educational advancement, the Foundation announced the awarding of scholarships to 20 deserving children during the event.

This initiative is a cornerstone of the Foundation’s broader mission to empower the next generation through access to quality education.

Mr. Aliyu extended his profound gratitude to the Foundation’s President, Ambassador Adesuwa O. Udo, praising her visionary leadership and dedication to humanitarian service.

He described her work as “both inspiring and overwhelming.” He also offered sincere thanks to His Highness, the 15th Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, CFR, for his gracious patronage, steadfast support for the Foundation’s endeavors, and his enduring commitment to the community, offering prayers for his continued health and wisdom.

In his goodwill remarks, the 15 Emir represented by the Bauran Kano, Alhaji Abbas Ado Bayero ( Maje), commended the Els Empowerment Foundation for its impactful gesture and assured the gathering of the Emirate’s continued support for such noble causes.

He also took the opportunity to call upon parents and guardians to continue instilling strong values of morality, discipline, and proper upbringing in their children.

Adding his voice to the accolades, the Kachallan Kano, Ambassador Ahmad Ibrahim Yakasai expressed his deep appreciation for the work of Founder Ambassador Adesuwa O. Udo.

He specifically commended the Foundation’s impactful programs in skills acquisition and health outreach, as well as its recent pioneering efforts in empowering and reintegrating youth in Kano State.

The event was graced by a host of distinguished dignitaries, including the Private Secretary to the Emir, Alhaji Abdullahi Haruna Kwaru, and former House of Representatives Member for Tarauni, Muhammad Ishaq, among other notable community leaders.
