Jaga Makes History: First-Ever Celebration of Top 10 JAMB Scorers in Zaria LG
The Executive Chairman of Zaria Local Government Council, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad Jaga, has made history by organizing the first-ever award ceremony to celebrate the Top 10 Highest JAMB Scorers from Zaria Local Government Area.
The event, which held on Sunday at the Council Secretariat, was described as a groundbreaking initiative that will serve as a motivation for young people across the community.

According to Ishaq, while addressing the gathering, the Chairman expressed deep pride in the academic achievements of the honorees. He noted:
“Today, I had the honor of celebrating the Top 10 Highest JAMB Scorers in Zaria Local Government at our Secretariat. These brilliant young students have made us proud with their outstanding performance.”
Leading the celebrated list was Auwal Aminu Ahmad, a student of Alhudahuda College, from Limancin Kona Ward , who scored 345. He was closely followed by Garba Ahmad of Nigerian Turkish School, Tudun Wada Ward, with 339, and Khadija Ahmad Bello of Demonstration Secondary School, Kongo, also of Tudun Wada Ward, with 328. Others honored were:
Zarah Muhammad Bello (Dialogue Academy, Kaura Ward) – 328
Ismail Abdulmutallib (GSS Kofar Kibo, Tukur Tukur Ward) – 309
Yusuf Abdulmalik (DSS Kongo, Wucicciri) – 305
Ka’ab Hamza Tafida (Umrabs School, Kaura Ward) – 301
Jaafar Jaafar Garba (Therbow Secondary School, Tudun Wada Ward) – 299
Muhammad Abdullahi Liman (DSS Samaru, Tudun Wada Ward) – 298
Salamatu Saifullahi Abdulkarim (Zaria Merit School, Kwarbai A) – 298
In collaboration with Team Adda, the Council rewarded the students with laptops, tablets, learning packages, and cash prizes. To further strengthen their academic journey, the Chairman also announced a landmark intervention:
“To encourage them, I have awarded automatic full scholarships to all ten students in any Federal University or College of their choice, until graduation. Their admission process will be guided, and we will continue to monitor their progress to ensure they succeed in their academic journey.”
The Chairman expressed special appreciation to Barr. Aysha and Team Adda for presenting additional gifts and essential school packages to the female awardees, describing the gesture as “commendable and inspiring in advancing girl-child education.” He also acknowledged DCOS Iliyasu Balarabe for supporting the students with additional cash gifts.
The initiative was commended by the Zaria Local Government Advisory Committee on Education, as well as Zenith Bank for their collaboration.
Chairman Jaga also used the opportunity to recognize the contributions of higher authorities:
“I acknowledge the efforts of our leader, the Executive Governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency Sen. Uba Sani, CON, for his commitment to bringing out-of-school children back to class. I equally appreciate our boss, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, GCON, for his continuous support of educational development in Zaria through school renovations and scholarship opportunities that have touched the lives of thousands of students.”
Concluding, the Chairman reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive education, stressing:
“As I always say, in Zaria Local Government under our watch, no student will be left behind, In Sha Allah.”
This event marks the beginning of a new tradition in Zaria Local Government — one that places education and youth empowerment at the center of community development.
