Nkuje, the Anti-Crime Volunteer, Set to Clear  Azare of New Wave of Crime

From Sani Gazas Chinade, Azare

Renowned anti-crime volunteer, Ahmed Mohammed, popularly known as Nkuje Azare of Katagum Local Government, Bauchi State, has vowed to hunt down perpetrators of violent crimes in Azare in a renewed effort to restore peace and security to his hometown.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with our reporter in Azare, Nkuje expressed deep concern over the rising wave of violent crimes that have left residents anxious and unsafe.

He explained that the decision to act follows a disturbing increase in robberies, particularly those linked to mobile phone and motorcycle theft. The criminals, mostly youths, often adopt the “hit-and-take” method, where they inflict severe injuries on their victims using knives or machetes before dispossessing them of their belongings.

“Most of these criminals are not outsiders; they live right here in Azare. In many instances, they have attacked innocent people with knives and machetes just to steal mobile phones or motorcycles,” Nkuje revealed.

He strongly advised parents to closely monitor their children’s behavior, interactions, and movements, stressing that many parents are aware of their children’s involvement in criminal activities but fail to restrain them.

According to him, within the next four days, he will launch a decisive crackdown on the perpetrators, promising to pursue them without mercy.

“Insha Allah, we will apprehend those behind these heinous acts and secure our community from violent crimes once again,” Nkuje assured.
