Maulud: Kano Gov’t Declares Friday Public Holiday

The Kano State Government has declared tomorrow, Friday, 12th September 2025, corresponding to 19th Rabi’ul Awwal 1447 AH, as a public holiday to mark the Maulud celebration, which commemorates the birth of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Comr. Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, Hon. Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Kano State disclosed this in a statement issued to newsmen today.
According to Waiya, the Government calls on civil servants, members of the private sector, and the general public to observe the holiday peacefully and in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Citizens are further encouraged to use the occasion to reflect on the values of unity, tolerance, and obedience to lawful authority.
In addition, the State Government urges residents to take advantage of this blessed occasion to offer special prayers for peace, prosperity, and the overall progress of Kano State and Nigeria at large.
The Government extends its warm felicitations to the good people of Kano State and wishes them a peaceful and memorable Maulud celebration.
