Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has sworn into office a new Grand Khadi, Abba Alhaji Mamadi, alongside five Special Advisers, 13 Permanent Secretaries, and a Permanent Member of the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Buni described the event as a new chapter in the history of the state and in the lives of the appointees.
He hailed the new Grand Khadi as a seasoned jurist with vast knowledge and experience, which makes him eminently qualified for the role.
The governor expressed confidence in the competence of the new officials, noting that their wealth of experience will be vital in driving quality service delivery in line with his administration’s vision and mission.
He particularly charged the SUBEB member to strengthen efforts toward building a robust foundation for education in the state, recalling that Yobe had been commended by the Federal Ministry of Education as a role model in foundational education among sub-nationals.
Governor Buni reiterated his administration’s consistent commitment to paying counterpart funds to access Universal Basic Education Commission grants for capital projects, alongside investments in school feeding, instructional materials, and examination fees.
He urged the appointees to strengthen due process, be proactive, and introduce innovative ideas to enhance service delivery.
“Our government will continue to equip and reposition the public service to be more responsive to current demands, ensuring speedy and effective implementation of policies and programmes to meet the yearnings and aspirations of our people,” he assured.
