NSA Ribadu Applauds Lamido Adamawa for Conferment of Traditional Title

From Umar Dankano, Yola

The National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has commended the fatherly role of the traditional institution in promoting peace and security across the country.

Ribadu gave the commendation during a thank-you visit to the Lamido Adamawa and Paramount Ruler of the Fombina dynasty, His Royal Highness Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Mustapha, following the conferment of the prestigious title of Sardauna Adamawa on him.

Represented by a family member, Alhaji Bashir Sulaiman Ribadu, the NSA expressed deep gratitude to the Lamido for recognizing both his contributions to national development and the Ribadu family’s historic ties with the emirate.

“Though Mallam Nuhu Ribadu could not attend due to the demands of his office, he asked us to convey his happiness and humility at this recognition,” Bashir conveyed.

He recalled the longstanding bond between the Ribadu lineage and the emirate, noting that previous honours were conferred on their forefathers, including the title of Sarki Turawa under Lamido Zubairu and Dangaladima on Ambassador Ahmadu Ribadu under Lamido Aliyu Mustapha.

“This conferment is a testament to our enduring bond with the royal house and the highest recognition Nuhu has received at home, especially as he serves the nation as NSA, stabilizing security across Nigeria,” Bashir added.

Speaking on behalf of the Lamido, Alhaji Umar Yahaya, Secretary of the Adamawa Emirate Council, said Ribadu’s selection was deliberate and symbolic.

“The role of the NSA is a daunting one, requiring relentless efforts against terrorism and insecurity. Ribadu has distinguished himself as a dogged fighter and a patriotic son of Adamawa. This honour extends to his family, and we pray Allah grants him strength in his responsibilities,” Yahaya stated.

The ceremony, marked by cultural displays and warm camaraderie, reaffirmed the Fombina Emirate’s role as a unifying force and highlighted Ribadu’s contributions as a bridge between tradition and modern governance.

Notable personalities at the event included the Minister of Livestock, Idi Maiha; former FCT Minister, Musa Bello; and APC North East National Vice Chairman, Mustapha Salihu, alongside professionals, industry leaders, youth groups, and women’s associations.
