Sports development has become a defining feature of the leadership of the Chairman, Zaria Local Government Council, Hon. Jaga, reflecting his firm belief that sports are powerful tools for youth empowerment and social cohesion.
Beyond administrative backing, Jaga has shown a personal passion for athletics, particularly as an expert badminton player who has received the prestigious Badminton Noble Award on several occasions. His active participation in the game continues to inspire young sports enthusiasts across the local government.
In recent months, Chairman Jaga has intensified his support for sporting activities, notably sponsoring and contributing to the successful hosting of the Second Anniversary of the Speaker Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen Five-Aside Football Competition—an event that attracted teams from across Zaria and neighbouring communities.
He has also extended sponsorship assistance to numerous games clubs, as well as primary, secondary, and tertiary institutions’ sports competitions, ensuring that young talents at the grassroots level receive the encouragement they deserve.
Equally remarkable is his backing of the Barrister Aysha Ahmed Adda First Edition Zaria Inter-Ward Five-Aside Football Competition 2025, further demonstrating his commitment to promoting sports as a vehicle for unity, youth development, and community advancement.
