Group launches monitor to track govt projects in Jigawa

A group of Patriots popularly known as “NEXT JIGAWA” has launched a monitor website to track, monitor and asses government projects, program and intervention in the state.

Speaking to journalists shortly after launching the monitor, the chairman ‘Jigawa next forum’ professor Usman Haruna said, the monitor will improve accountability and transparency in governance as well as to help government’s performance in Jigawa.

Professor Haruna denied using the monitor to witch-hunt or attacks government in power said, the group is non profit, and non partisan adding that, is a group that comprised all caliber of people whom always put Jigawa first and above their personal interest.

According to him, the platform developed a demand charters for Jigawa people and submitted it to both gubernatorial and senatorial candidates before 2023 general elections.

He maintained that, during the submission of the demand charters, the candidates from almost all the major political parties promised to go through and put it in action for better Jigawa state.

“We will make sure that, this monitor is use to track and assess government projects, program and interventions to ensure transparency and accountability among the citizens in the state”, he said.

While making her remarks, the representative of PAL in Jigawa state, Hajiya Hajara Sulaiman said, PAL partner with NEXT JIGAWA platform with aims to promote accountability and transparency in governance.

She then, assured more support to the platfom and congratulated the leadership of the platfom and urged government and other partners to support the moves.
