Prime Minister of Niger Republic, Ouhoumoudou Mahamadou said the attempted coup in Niamey was unsuccessful and has been put down and revealed that President Bozoum is safe in the presidential palace.

The Prime Minister told ait.live in a telephone interview that the mutineers are currently in custody.
